Even with Logic set to manually use all threads rather than automatic management, things felt less performant than they should have been. The CPU usage/how it spread across the threads was also not totally optimized. Playing and pausing the song would make another loud pop with no audio coming through, every time I played/paused. I think this happened on more than one machine. I was getting loud audio pops/drops that would make playback mute. I was crashing a lot with certain plugins.
Why the move? Well, Logic was giving me so many headaches.

I had tried version 5 before that and couldn’t grasp it mostly due to disliking the UI. I had some issues, so I finally made the switch to REAPER when version 6 came out. I initially made the switch to Studio One 4. I used Logic Pro 9 and then 10, so probably around 10 years of experience. I moved from Logic to REAPER a couple years ago. Prepare for a long one that I’ve already made some edits to: I know that nobody else can make the decision for me, but I am hoping that hearing from people who have made a similar change/decision will provide experience-backed reasons for me to pick a single DAW and be confident in that decision.
